Mission
Educate, Empower and Encourage
Morrowtown Community Group (MCG) is a resident led community
organization that “seeks to educate, empower, and encourage residents
through impactful projects to effect change and better our community.”
We came from a vision/dream of two community women who
experience loss due to violent crimes and wanted to do something about
it. Formed in 2017 MCG became a 501C3 nonprofit in December 2020.
Vision
We seek to change the narrative and perception of the Morrowton neighborhood by fostering unity among residents. Unity built through action and service towards shared goals and desire. By addressing issues such as environmental blight, food insecurity, violence and drug use we hope to make a lasting mark and plant a seed for generations to come. The symbolic tree and the green in our logo speaks to our desire to nourish and grow the Morrowtown community and the greater community of Burlington, NC.
